The first federal tax return goes online

The organisation's founding argument to donors was that money raised in the United States for Nepal usually disappears into administration, and that this one would not. Publishing the tax return was the cheapest available proof.
The 2015 return was prepared without charge by PK Tax and Accounting Services LLC and posted publicly in December 2016. The 2016 return followed in May 2017, prepared by the same firm. In both announcements the organisation named the volunteers who did the work.
The Nepal-side audit was described in the same post as close to completion, with a commitment to upload it when it was finished. Money moved from the US account to the Nepal account in instalments; withdrawals in Nepal required three signatures.
None of this is remarkable practice for a large charity. It is worth recording because the organisation was eighteen months old, run entirely by unpaid volunteers with day jobs as doctors and accountants, and had raised something over $400,000 by that point.
